Mon 1/8 Blog Prompt

Mon 1/8 Blog Prompt

Describe a time when you have benefitted from the kindness of a stranger.

Christmas 97
I took my cousin to Cincinnati from Youngstown to pick up her two kids the day before Christmas Eve. It was her, me and my 4 kids and then her two kids. The oldest child was 6. On our way back to Youngstown, the alternator died and the car stalled. We had very little money, no cell, no triple AAA. We sat on side of road for about an hour in light snowfall all teh while it was getting dark. We weren't near enough to any exit to walk to. Finally a state trooper stopped and saw we needed help. He drove about thirty miles up the road to Truck Stop and got some truckers to tow the car (FREE) , give us all a ride, they fed us, and let us make all calls we needed to get home. They even took a collection and gave us money to buy the kids Christmas gifts. I said I would never say a bad word about truckers since that day!

Beautiful story. I am always amazed at the bad rap truckers get. I have several who are close friends and they are just like teddy bears.
