"I see a number of teachers are blogging, now and, along with the end of the school year, I wondered if "Who was your favorite or most influential teacher?" might be a timely prompt."
My favorite teacher was Mrs. Bennett. She was my fourth grade teacher and was the first teacher I had that actively encouraged my reading for pleasure. She allowed me to read as much as I liked in class as long as my grades didnt suffer. She would even bring books that her daughter had outgrown for me to read. She passed away some years later and I felt a distinct sense of loss.

I'm so glad to hear that teachers are encouraging reading so much at a young age!
What a wonderful woman to have a great influence on your life.
